Community Grains Project
The Community Grains Project was an off shoot of Sustainable Saugerties, Transition Town. A group of us interested in learning how to become more locally sustainable thought it would be fun and educational to see what kind of Grains we could grow locally for ourselves. We were given about 1/2 an acre to play with at Cody Creek Farm.
We have been meeting about once a week since spring for Work/Potluck Parties. So far we have planted Wheat, Barley, two types of Oats, Black Beans, Lentils, 2nd generation Cody Creek Farm Mandan Bride flour Corn & an upland Rice. Its an amazing group of folks who have fun and get things done.
